You can prevent these conditions by fertilizing your lawn or adding in another feeding if you are already fertilizing to increase the nitrogen content in the soil and grass. The other thing you will want to do is make sure that you are watering deeply and infrequently early in the morning. This will prevent moist soil for prolonged periods in the warmer evenings of the summer.
